Meet the Founder
Jaime Chesney
The Road to Heal Foundation was founded in 2023 by Jaime Chesney, an entrepreneur from Pittsburgh, PA. The inspiration to start a nonprofit using the power of the media to create awareness, educate, and provide resources to those who may be victims of sex crimes came to her when a teenage girl needed help on what to do after she was raped.
Personal experience aside, the question that needed to be answered was, "Why are our children being taught sex ed in elementary school, yet they don't know what to do to prevent and protect themselves in the event of sex crimes, such as trafficking, sexual assault/rape, and child sex abuse?".
There is a noticeable gap in awareness and in our education system on these issues, such as sexual assault, which effects an American every 68 seconds, and every 9 minutes, that victim is a child. And with sex trafficking and child sex abuse at an all-time high, that gap in awareness and education needs to be closed immediately.
Jaime has extensive experience in Digital Media and knows how to solve the problem:
"We have to get the message out and make it compelling to be effective so potential victims will be educated to reduce risk, and know where to go for resources to get help."
For that, we now have Road to Heal.
